When Alec Sartain wasn’t hitting, he spent most of his time in the dugout.
But the thing is, Sartain did his fair share of hitting. In fact, he did as much hitting as the best high school baseball players in Missouri.

RECORD-BREAKING YARD WORK
A few weeks into the baseball season, the Blue Jays found themselves in the midst of one memorable streak.
Thirteen consecutive victories. Seven consecutive games with double digits in the scoring column. Three mercy run-rule blowouts.
Those are just the beginning of the video-game-like numbers that left Liberty head baseball coach Kirk Bragg nearly speechless at the midway point of the 2010 spring campaign.

Preparation was not the problem.
With a first-round bye and a couple days of rain, the Blue Jays had a few extra days to go over situational defense. Head coach Kirk Bragg even instituted the use of wet baseballs in practice in preparation of soggy playing conditions.

A late-season speed bump didn’t cost the Blue Jays after all.
Despite suffering four losses in a matter of eight days last week, Liberty still stands as the team to beat in the Class 4 District 16 tournament. Coaches voted the Jays as the No. 1 seed in the state playoff-qualifying tournament, which will be played at Park Hill South.
