The back-to-school sales are the first sign that fall is just around the corner, and not long after will be the cold winter months. In anticipation of those chilly days, the Northland Needlers Quilting Guild is hosting its 28th annual quilt show entitled “Harvest of Holidays.”

The Quintessential Winds from the U.S. Army Ground Forces in Atlanta will present a free public concert at Second Baptist Church at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6. The church is located at 300 E.Kansas St.

Liberty’s 2010 Dance for the Cure celebration was held Saturday, July 31, at Bennett Park. The annual event raises funds for the nonprofit Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, dedicated to helping find a cure for breast cancer.
