The Missouri Department of Transportation continues work on eight miles of Interstate 35 in Clay County between Missouri Route PP and Fishing River.

Motorists began to see changes in the traffic pattern on Sunday, July 25. Traffic began switching to the new right lanes on Sunday, and all traffic was expected to be moved to the southbound lanes by Monday, July 26, so that work could begin on the northbound lanes.

This $23 million project, awarded to Ideker, will provide extensive pavement rehabilitation to rebuild the aging infrastructure currently on I-35 between the Clinton County line and the Fishing River just south of Kearney. In addition, MoDOT will rehabilitate 10 bridges that include Fishing River, Missouri Highway 92, Missouri Highway 33, Clear Creek and Holt Creek in both directions.

All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2010.

Call MoDOT 24 hours a day at 888-ASK-MODOT (275-66368) to find out information or report road concerns.
